101 Cellplates
In 101 Cellplates the suggested metaphors of cellular repetition are explored via reactionary and repetitive mark making. Layering slips of rice paper upon one another created 101 Cellplates, mimicking layers of time, deposition, or living tissue. Drawing upon the utmost layer, imprints from graphite and ink seep through and create impressions upon the underlying sheets. By visually interacting with these marks I simulated sedimentation, accumulation, and reactionary organic processes.
